dc.description.note This thesis analyzes the evolution of the EU Consumer Credit regulation. The first Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) was introduced in 2008: for the first time, there was a regulation that sought to facilitate cross-border consumer credit circulation by introducing standard information requirements and enhanced consumer protection provisions. Italy adopted these provisions through a legislative decree that implemented the EU law into the national Testo Unico Bancario. The present document analyzes the transposition of the 2008 CCD and identifies the gaps in the consumer protection area. Furthermore, analysis and considerations are conducted on the technological advancement and its impact on the current banking ecosystem. The newly introduced 2023 CCD aims at addressing the gaps in consumer protection and banking transformation: an analysis is conducted on whether the recent provisions are effective enough towards consumer protection. it_IT
