La Grande Jamahiriyya libica: tra passato e presente. Il caso Gheddafi

Abstract

This thesis, which bring the title “La Grande Jamahiriyya libica: tra passato e presente. Il caso Gheddafi” has the main aim of describing and analyzing all main events that took place in Libya between September 30 1969 and 2011. In particular it will bring to light all the actions concerning leader Muammar Qadhafi and the Libyan Revolutionary Command Council. The first Chapter will exemplify the main facts occurred the night of September 1 1969 and the coup d’etat that damaged the monarchy of King Idriss. Furthermore the first Chapter will analyze all Qadhafi’s relations with other countries in the region, like Egypt, and other North African actors; it will analyze international relations between Libya and the Middle East countries; it will analyze Libyan international relations with the United States between Nixon Administration and Obama Administration. In the Second Chapter will be explained the Libyan social structure, diversified into: society, economy and politics throw the help of the Green Book written by Qadhafi himself. The Third Chapter will analyze the oil and gas Libyan industry: its deposits, storage and distribution. The Fourth Chapter will deal with Human Right development in Libya: its surveillance, its violations cases and NGOs acting in Libya. The Fifth and last Chapter will deal with the heritage left by Qadhafi’s regime.
