dc.description.abstract Trafficking in human beings continues to be a phenomenon in full evolution both from the point of view of the organized criminality interests in the disproportionate illegal gains that this activity creates, and from the point of view of the bodies dedicated to the fight against this phenomenon. The aim of this research is to propose an analysis of the main sources related to the fight against trafficking in human beings outlining the rules and characteristics of the phenomenon from an international, regional and national Romanian point of view. This research has the purpose of understanding the reasons why this country, despite being one of the most active in Europe in terms of combating trafficking, is still one of the main European countries in terms of number of young women victims of trafficking. Finally, the study will draw up a picture of the real social, economic and cultural situation of Romania, followed by a presentation of the strategies undertaken to fight against this phenomenon. Subsequently to the two reports of the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Actions against Trafficking in human beings (GRETA), the thesis will end with a presentation of the divergent opinions of governmental and non-governmental organizations about the efforts of Romania in this regard. it_IT
