Abstract:
This paper would like to present an overview of the Gamification practices inside the organizations as an intended enhancement of traditional performance management. It would be an analysis of the benefits of such new instrument to increase worker motivation, effectiveness and performance applying principles of digital and computer games to work context. Moreover it is also intended to outline the criticisms of its effective implementation in such a way that they can compromise the achievement of organizational objectives. To this end this paper would also provide an empirical study considering the approach used by organisations that provide Gamification instruments and analyze the results, the advantages and drawbacks of the organization that employ them.
