From Emotional Intelligence to the Leadership theories: how to recognise leadership styles and skills. Case study: Baxi SpA

Abstract

Starting from a definition of innovation and creativity, the goal of the research is to analyse the difference between management, creative management and creative leadership and the four approaches to creativity: product, process, press and person. It will be introduced the concept of emotional intelligence and the different models that have been developed over the years, in particularly the models of Salovey and Mayer, the one of Bar-On and the one of Daniel Goleman. Leadership is then defined and studied across the different theories with a particular regard for leadership skills and leadership styles. In the last chapter different tests have been used to test the leadership skills and attitude of the leaders of the department of Research and Development in Baxi Spa, an international company located in Bassano del Grappa.
