dc.description.abstract |
Forced by economic globalization and attracted by cheap labour costs, since the 80s many firms have started to delocalize production activities to outside suppliers (outsourcing), especially abroad (offshoring). This trend is still in act but a new phenomenon, called back-reshoring, concerning the repatriation of production activities is assuming more and more importance. However, it does not mean that businesses will offshore production activities abroad no more. Instead, the two phenomena, respectively offshoring and back-reshoring, are destined to coexist. |
