Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to find out which strategies are the most and the least used amongst students of two different high-schools near Treviso. The research questions of my paper are “Which strategies are the most and the least used?" and “Do linguistic curricula students use better strategies than the other curricula students?”. In order to answer these questions, I submitted a questionnaire to four different curricula : Linguistic, Scientific, International Relation for Marketing, and Information Technology. In the first Part of my research, I discuss the different approaches on language learning strategies field and the different theoretical frameworks. In the second part, I explain how I organized my research and the different procedures I made to reach my conclusions. In the third part, I analyse the questionnaire data starting with an assumption: linguistic students use strategies in a different way than the other curricula students. In order to answer my research questions, I analyse the general results of all the questionnaires first and then my analysis becomes more specific. I analysed each curriculum in details in order to reach some first conclusions. In the last part of my paper, I discuss the results obtained and an answer to the research questions is given.
