Abstract

Bianca Pitzorno is known as one of the most famous Italian writers, devoted herself in children’s literature, has a high reputation in Italy. Although China has a long history in translation literature and Chinese publishing industry is considered as one of the most important industries in China, Italian classical works haven’t been paid attention by the Chinese readers. Chinese readers don’t know much about Italian writers and literature, especially children’s literature. This thesis focuses on the Chinese publishing market, translation of the book: la casa sull’albero (the Tree house) of Bianca Pitzorno, and a detailed analysis of translation strategies used, all the problems faced during the translation.
