Cosi connessi, così distanti. Effetti della socialità virtuale sulle relazioni e i servizi sociali

Abstract

La scoperta negli anni’60 e lo sviluppo rapido di Internet dagli anni ’90 in poi, ha comportato una mutazione radicale nel carattere delle società post-moderne. Al di là dei vantaggi inediti offerti dalla tecnologia, l’attenzione mira sullo stacco tra le sue potenzialità e le sue concrete realizzazioni, nello specifico, sugli effetti imprevisti e dannosi dovuti a un abuso dello strumento Internet e a un legame morboso con esso. In particolare, l’avvento dei social network se ha permesso la creazione di sistemi virtuali d’interazione sociale, ha anche intaccato i più reali legami sociali, rendendo difficili momenti di collaborazione e cooperazione tra le persone, innescando meccanismi viziosi di isolamento e solitudine, di ostilità nei confronti dell’ “Altro da sé”, di allottamento intergenerazionale, di dipendenza da relazioni virtuali a scapito di quelle “faccia a faccia”. La dipendenza cyber-relazionale, infatti, è una specifica forma di una tra le più moderne dipendenze patologiche: la dipendenza da internet (Internet Addiction Disorder), insidiosa e difficile da rilevare perché prevede comportamenti accettati e incoraggiati socialmente. Dopo aver riportato dati, esperienze, informazioni disponibili e considerazioni in merito, infine, si vuole proporre un progetto pensato per il Dipartimento per le Dipendenze dell’ULSS 16 di Padova, dove la laureanda ha svolto il tirocinio formativo e ha appurato la mancanza di un’équipe professionale dedicata al problema emergente. The discovery of the Internet in the 60's and the its sudden growth from the 90's onward, led to a radical change in the character of post-modern societies. Beyond the innovative advantages offered by technology, the focus of the thesis is the gap between its potential and its concrete achievements and, in particular, the unforeseen and damaging effects caused by an abuse of the Internet and by a morbid bond with it. The advent of social networks in particular has allowed the creation of virtual systems of social interaction but has also affected the most real social bonds, making it difficult for people to collaborate and cooperate, and triggering vicious mechanisms of isolation and loneliness, of hostility towards “the Other”, of intergenerational estrangement, and of addiction to virtual relationships at the expense of "face to face” ones. The cyber-relational addiction is indeed a specific form of one of the most modern pathological addiction: Internet addiction (Internet Addiction Disorder), insidious and difficult to detect since it involves socially accepted and encouraged behaviors.After reporting all the related data, experiences, available information and considerations, the final aim is to propose a project devised for the Department for Addictions of the ULSS 16 in Padua, where the graduand has done an internship, and has ascertained the absence of a professional team dedicated to the emerging problem.
