Abstract:
The main goal of this project is to define and analyze how member of a particular social context define their identity project through the negotiation between the group and personal requirements.
The research will be carried out by studying Catholic priests’ behavior, which represents a very challenging and demanding category, in particular in terms of uniformity of the outfit.
In order to do so, it is firstly necessary to investigate the reasons and motivations that have led people embrace this particular position within the society.
The second step is to understand what feeling and emotions invade a person while dressing religious clothes and then switching to civil ones to understand if there is any kind of tension with this “pre-fixed” model. Finally, the representation of the willingness through which a person can and want to modify this model will be done.
Findings and deductions will be defined after the conduction of personal open-question interviews.
At the end, a new theoretical model of the definition of the personal identity project will be traced.
