dc.description.abstract The purpose of my work is to understand the stages which led to the assumption that, among the fundamental rights recognized as essential and undeniable, there are also those related to childhood. Undoubtedly, the development of the recognition about the existence of the rights of the child could not be possible without the interaction between long term changes in human awareness and moral responsibility, and the contribution of historical events. However, nothing that happened from the beginning of the process to our days would be possible without the exceptional contribution of Unicef. Unicef is the most important International Organization focusing on behalf of children all around the world, regardless of gender, religion or nationality. Unicef can give birth to international interventions, conceived to help children who suffer from hunger or who are affected by conflicts consequences. Unicef interventions are supported by defined methods of research and it cooperates with other agencies and States, in order to operate not only from outside, but also from inside of the Societies in need of support. it_IT
