Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the different regional varieties which were present in England during the Middle English period (1100-1500) and, in particular, on John Lydgate's poem "The reignes of the kyngis of Englande". The text of the poem will be provided according to the unedited Royal manuscript (MS 18 D II) version.
