Abstract:
The research traces the development of AI, in particular of Generative AI, how it works and explains differences among the various types implemented today. These technologies impacted enormously on our society, transforming the way people research for information, think and work; one of the aspects that contributed to their rapid diffusion is the democratisation of the technology. In this field, data is fundamental to train and develop AI models thus, setting a data strategy is essential to achieve great results from its implementation.
The second chapter focuses on the consulting market, its major players and compares how AI sections of their websites changed throughout the years. Additionally, consulting companies propose best practices and advice to follow when first approaching AI including the adoption of a beginner’s mindset, a human-centric approach, choosing between building or buying AI. Lastly, the chapter analyses GenAI risks and benefits.
The third chapter analyses PwC, one of the major players of the industry which started implementing AI few years ago becoming one of the best sellers. Moreover, PwC implements AI in its internal processes, allowing its employees to use the technology on a daily basis, experiment and understand it through trainings the company offers to deliver a great customer experience. Lastly, the chapter reflects on the role of the consultant and how this will be impacted by AI given the potential disruptions it could cause to the sector.
