dc.description.abstract |
The art sector in Colombia has experienced steady growth in recent years, thanks to the initiatives developed by the government and the work of the different organizations and agents of the sector at national and international levels. However, the access of Colombian art and artists to international platforms is still limited. An example of this is Colombia's presence at the Venice International Art Exhibition, one of the most important platforms for contemporary art in the world. Since its inception in 1895, it has been a renowned stage for art. After Belgium established the first national pavilion in 1907, the beginning of official country participation was initiated, increasing international visibility through national representative art proposals. In the case of Colombia, participation in the Biennale Arte has primarily involved the inclusion of Colombian artists in broader exhibitions, rather than the presentation of a dedicated national pavilion. This absence of a national pavilion can be attributed to political, economic, and managerial challenges. Therefore, this research proposes the establishment of Colombia's first permanent national pavilion at the Venice International Art Exhibition. Through the application of project management principles, this study will analyze and outline the necessary processes and stages for the creation of a national pavilion. |
