dc.description.abstract Starting from what is present in literature, this study aims to illustrate the concept of double materiality (DM). We will analyze in detail the application method, why it is necessary, its origins, and the different frameworks used. Subsequently, we will illustrate the standards used for the dissemination of the double materiality in the European context, which is useful for companies in order to improve their transparency and their efforts to achieve adequate levels of sustainability. Finally, we have conducted an empirical analysis of the companies listed on the Euro Stoxx 50 regarding the application of double materiality. it_IT
