Abstract:
This thesis project addresses the need for a dedicated smart platform for location scouting in film production, particularly in Italy, a country renowned for its diverse and picturesque landscapes yet lacking an efficient digital solution for filmmakers. By examining the current challenges faced by the film industry, including time constraints and limited access to potential locations, this research aims to identify the gap in the market for a centralized, user-friendly platform. The proposed platform not only caters to the needs of filmmakers but also promotes regions as attractive destinations for tourism and business investments, thereby stimulating local economies. The literature review encompasses film production processes, studies on film tourism, the role of digital platforms in promoting tourism, and case studies of existing location scouting services. Methodologically, economic and tourism impact analyses, user research, and prototype testing will be employed to achieve the objectives. The expected results include a prototype of the smart platform and insights into the synergies between the film industry, tourism, and local economies.
