Abstract:
Language acquisition among adults has gained increasing attention in the field of education as societies become more multicultural and diverse. The effectiveness of language teaching methodologies becomes crucial, prompting a reassessment of existing approaches. This research explores the application of Speech Act theory in teaching language to adults, aiming to address gaps in current methodologies and enhance communicative competence. Contemporary language teaching methodologies often face challenges in catering to the diverse linguistic needs of adult learners. The limitations of current approaches call for innovative strategies to address the complexities of adult language acquisition.
