Abstract:
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has undelighted the complex dynamics underneath the process of gender partitioning during the conflict, these thesis has the aim of focusing on its multifaceted implications and responses. Investigating the effect of the gendered division of labor on the conflict and analyzing the international response, the study explores historical gendered divisions of labor and their influence on individuals' experiences and responses to conflicts.
It assesses women's protection under international law, national policies in Ukraine and Russia and the efforts for solutions, including the roles of international organizations and the Council of Europe's. Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, the research analyzes the effectiveness of the tools of protection from a national and also an international perspective.
Additionally, the study delves into the division of labor's impact on access to resources, the economic ramifications of war, and differential effects of violence, such as gender-based violence and displacement. Highlighting women's participation in peace processes and their representation in media, the thesis underscores the importance of integrating gender perspectives in conflict analysis and resolution efforts.
In the end the study will deal with the possible resolutions that could be adopted to solve the issue.
