dc.description.abstract This thesis focuses upon the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson and takes into account his literary legacy that fueled a recent re-evaluation of his genre-crossing work. Specifically, this thesis analyses the metamorphosis of his narrative inviting reinterpretations across various media, namely cinematographic, animated and radiophonic adaptations. In converting a selection of Stevenson's written texts to visual and auditory representations, this thesis explores how Stevenson's works undergo transformation, adapting them to the unique constraints and potential of each medium. it_IT
