Objective of the thesis will be to do a an overview analysis of the mobility automotive-mobility industry underlining what are the steps made and to be done in the attempt of reaching hiher degrees of sustainabilty. In order to do that I choose to divide the hesis in to two main parts.
In the first part I will present the undergoing changes in terms of innovation and developement in the short term (2030 circa). Being BEV the most currently debated technology in the industry it will have the greatest focus. The short term orientation will allow a more “tangible” analysis of the current data and a more plausible forecasting (e.g. market trends). This first chapter will also focus more on the automotive sector solely and its relationship with policimakers/institutions.
The second part will instead focus on the long term, and thus on a whole series of factors and forces at play that have the power to completely overturn the automotive and mobility industry in general in all its aspects. This will make it possible to make predictions about much more profound changes, from the conception we have of means of transport both from a product design perspective and in terms of its use or ownership. Changes that truly have the potential to achieve sustainability in all its forms (environmental, economic, and social). |
