Abstract:
Cultural policy is concerned with the administration of culture and it is carried out at all levels of government, and in the last years the primary site is the city, giving birth to the concept of Urban cultural policy.
Policymakers can create them through different actions, in particular this thesis is going to analyse the idea of “urban regeneration” through a new case study: M9.
M9 is a project created by Fondazione di Venezia, a banking foundation, which wanted to regenerate the city of Mestre in the Municipality of Venice, through the creation of a Museum and a cultural district.
The thesis is structured in two parts as it wants to analyse the intentions of M9 project, its actions through the events that are organized both in the Museum and in all the district, and finally the perception of both users and not users.
