dc.description.abstract This work encapsulates a six month long exploration within De'Longhi's IT office, focusing on Project "Daedalus” and its endeavor to integrate the Internet of Things (IoT) into coffee machines. The study delves into the previous failures, current developments through Agile methodologies, and envisioned future applications of the project, aiming to provide comprehensive insights into the transformative journey of IoT integration in the coffee machine industry. The analysis begins with an examination of the initial "Coffee Link" application, critically assessing its shortcomings and extracting valuable lessons. Subsequently, attention shifts to the present "Daedalus" Project, exploring its structure, implications, and the multifaceted benefits of IoT integration within the context of De'Longhi. The study encompasses key components, such as data-driven insights, business impacts, limitations, and future implementations on other appliances. Despite the constraints imposed by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), the commitment to confidentiality underscores ethical standards and legal considerations. This limitation poses challenges in detailing specific sources but aligns with the dedication to protect sensible proprietary information. In essence, Project "Daedalus" emerges as a compelling case study, illustrating strategic, technological, and customer-centric dimensions of IoT implementation in coffee machines. Beyond this specific application, the study contributes to a broader understanding of smart home appliances. The De'Longhi case unfolds as a narrative of innovation, resilience, and a commitment to delivering optimal customer experiences in the dynamic market of modern home appliances. it_IT
