dc.description.abstract The chemical composition of the art materials is one of the main inquiries to be answered, among others mass spectrometry techniques are widely used for this purpose. Nowadays the mass spectrometry can be performed with many instrument and coupling combinations. This research is focus on the use of the Cyclic Ion Mass Spectrometer (Cyclic IMS) and the parameters to be used for oil binders. A series of oxidized analytes contain linseed oil, poppyseed oil, walnut oil, sunflower oil, hemp oil and olive oil were analyzed to identify and track the triglycerides, diglycerides, and oxidation products. Preliminary tests were performed for linseed oil and poppyseed oil to set the conditions of the analysis, including time of oxidation and spectra range. A comparison of the spectra obtained by Cyclic IMS and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) was done to determine the scope of the results achieved through IMS. it_IT
