Abstract:
Through a quantitative analysis, this paper explores the relationship between the funding mix of a cultural institution and its ability to set its own cultural agenda. More specifically, regarding the choice of their temporary exhibition's themes and subjects.
This paper analyses the differences between public and private funding and gives a thorough analysis of the previous literature.
After, a presentation of all national museums and their country's cultural policies when it comes to funding is presented. Each of the museum's cultural agenda is analysed between the years 2015 and 2020.
With that data, the research is conducted and the findings and potential findings are explained.
This paper concludes with the limitations of such research and a conclusion of the study.
