dc.description.abstract Abstract This thesis explores the roles that major banks can make to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) in developing nations. The focus of the research is to determine the extent to which major banks are engaged in promoting educational opportunities and improving the quality of education in developing nations, as well as the effect of their activities on achieving SDG 4. Using a qualitative research design, the thesis will gather data from the sustainability reports of the major banks as well as a review of relevant literature and policies. The research will concentrate on major bank operations in developing countries and their efforts in promoting and advancement of education through their various initiatives, such as financing education projects, providing scholarships and grants, and also partnering with educational institutions. The study's findings are expected to provide insight into the roles played by major banks in advancing education in developing nations and helping to achieve SDG 4. The research aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the roles of a financial institution in sustainable development and it will also inform policymakers and stakeholders of the CSR initiatives of the major banks in the world regarding SDG 4 in low-income countries. it_IT
