An analysis of the relationship between green supply chain management and organizational performance

Abstract

The thesis will revolve around four main pillars - An extensive review of existing literature regarding green supply chain management, including a thorough analysis of the obstacles for its integration in managerial practices today - A deep dive into the structure of today's supply chains based on the distinctions between green manufacturing, green purchasing, cooperation with customers, eco-design and green information systems. Sharp focus will especially be placed on the role that first and second tier suppliers play. - An analysis of the aforementioned practices on corporate performance by uncovering the triple bottom line and describing the green multiplier effect - In-depth scrutiny of selected case studies to provide insight into the workings of different industries by analyzing companies active in the tobacco, the automobile and the textile sectors.
