Abstract:
This thesis explores the ethical implications of artificial intelligence, with a focus on its relationship to the concept of kindness. Artificial intelligence is one of the digital technologies that is having the most disruptive impact in recent years, both within companies and society. Precisely because of the scope this technology entails, it is crucial to analyze its ethical implications as well. This research will investigate the relationship between algorithms and their potential for kindness through an analysis of the literature and case studies that look at both the state of the art and future developments, and then provide insights into the ethical considerations necessary for the development of this technology and its ability to promote kindness. The latter ability proves to be a key aspect of making sure that artificial intelligence systems can contribute positively to human well-being.
