dc.description.abstract Fish is well-known for its high nutritional value, owing to its high protein and fat content among other factors. The goal of this research is to investigate the use of ATR-MIR spectroscopy as an alternative to traditional methods for the determination of the fish characteristics, mainly fat and protein content, and in combination with chemometric tools is used to identify the provenance and the storage conditions of the samples. The research is based on fish samples grown under different conditions (wild and farmed), fresh, and frozen which are purchased, and collected from various Venetian markets. The search for Microplastic contamination in fish gills and gastrointestinal tracts is also carried out in some of the fish samples. it_IT
