dc.description.abstract the thesis analysis the evolution of modern sports in the last two centuries from the point of view of the influence of science and technology on athletics and team sports. Since Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment and Positivism, sport has been supported by a deeper knowledge of the human body and by new tools, equipment and materials which have empowered human performances.
