Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the contents of the Italian children’s magazine “Focus Wild” within the period 2012-2021. The goal of the analysis is to observe how animals are used to communicate the human-nature relationship to children: which species, how many times they are mentioned, if the species are known to children, how they are represented and what emotions their images and stories suggest on the young readers.
To contextualize the analysis, an interview will be carried out with the editor of the magazine during which they will be investigated: the editorial choices and their changes through time, the influence on and the response from the young readers.
