Encouraging sustainable Consumer Behavior: The German Mobility Policy to reach the Targets of the Paris Agreement

Abstract

Sustainability and the responsible use of resources receive tremendous attention by our generation, and the Paris Agreement and its resulting National Determined Contributions have a prominent role in protecting the planet we are living on and encourage the participating countries to become more environmentally friendly. I consider the change in behavior and consumption towards sustainability by individuals but also by companies and states an essential part of moving forward as a society. Thus, the project evaluates the effectiveness of the measures of the German government aiming at reaching the sustainability goals of the Paris Agreement. A special focus is a regression analysis on the factors that influence the willingness to use trains and electrical vehicles.
