dc.description.abstract This paper aims to identify some country-level variables that can influence the level of sectoral concentration in two technology-intensive sectors: the tablet industry and the tablet operating system industry. The first chapter introduces the notions of industry sector and competitive scenario. In addition, the concept of sectoral concentration is explained and the most important concentration indices are presented. The second chapter, on the other hand, provides an overview of all the main drivers of sectoral concentration identified so far in the scientific literature. In the third chapter the results of the empirical analysis are presented. This empirical analysis aims to identify additional country-level variables, not so far addressed in the literature, that can influence competitive intensity in the two sectors under study. Once the results have been presented, considerations will be made to help draw conclusions that will bring added value to research in this field. it_IT
