Die deutschen MPn eben, halt, bloß, nur auf Italienisch: Analyse der DGD und InterCorp Korpora

Abstract

Il presente lavoro rappresenta un’analisi qualitativa e contrastiva di alcuni corpora linguistici, al fine di analizzare l’uso ed il significato pragmatico delle particelle modali tedesche (ted. Modalpartikeln) eben, halt, bloß e nur e la loro possibile traduzione nella lingua italiana. Le domande poste alla base della ricerca sono state pertanto le seguenti:

1) Se la lingua italiana non prevede questa classe di parole, come possono essere espresse le funzioni che in tedesco vengono svolte dalle particelle modali?

2) Se l’italiano non prevede delle particelle modali corrispondenti alle Modalpartikeln tedesche, come si possono tradurre in questa lingua tali particelle?

Per rispondere alla prima domanda è stato analizzato il corpus DGD (Datenbank für Gesprochenes Deutsch), proponendo delle traduzioni in italiano delle quattro particelle modali. Successivamente, le traduzioni proposte sono state confrontate con quelle già esistenti nel corpus InterCorp. La ricerca ha evidenziato l’effettiva possibilità di esprimere in italiano le funzioni espresse in tedesco dalle Modalpartikeln, per lo più attraverso avverbi, congiunzioni, interiezioni, strategie morfologiche e sintattiche. In ambito di traduzione, la ricerca ha evidenziato un’effettiva difficoltà nella resa delle quattro particelle tedesche in italiano, dove spesso queste non vengono tradotte. Alcune delle strategie proposte sono state tuttavia confermate nella letteratura, in particolare il ricorso a appunto, pur sempre, si sa per la particella eben, certo, allora, beh sì per la particella halt, solo, soltanto, pure nonché il verbo al futuro indicativo per le particelle bloß e nur.

Abstract (inglese): This work represents a qualitative and contrastive analysis of some linguistic corpora, in order to investigate the use and the pragmatic meaning of the German modal particles (Ger. Modalpartikeln) eben, halt, bloß and nur and their possible translation in the Italian language. Therefore, two research questions were posed:

1) If the Italian language does not provide for this class of words, how can the functions performed in German by the modal particles be expressed in this language?

2) If Italian does not provide for modal particles corresponding to the German Modalpartikeln, how can these particles be translated into this language?

To answer the first question, the DGD corpus (Datenbank für Gesprochenes Deutsch) was analysed, proposing Italian translations of the four modal particles. Subsequently, the proposed translations were compared with those already existing in the InterCorp corpus. The research highlighted the actual possibility of expressing in Italian the functions expressed in German by the modal particles, mostly through linguistic means such as adverbs, conjunctions, interjections, morphological and syntactic strategies. As regards translation, the research has shown an actual difficulty in the rendering of the four German particles in Italian, where these are often not translated. However, some of the proposed strategies have also been confirmed in the literature, in particular the use of appunto, pur sempre, si sa for the particle eben, certo, allora, beh sì for the particle halt, solo, soltanto, pure as well as the verb in the future indicative for the particles bloß and nur.
