Abstract:
The focus of this thesis are the narratives and imaginaries of a resettled community from Roșia Montană, Romania. The resettlement was one of the effects of a never-concretized development project for the extension of the existing gold mine. During the more than twenty years since the project was proposed, each actor involved developed its own discourse on several main themes: community, work, environment being the ones treated in the present research, through the lens of material culture, identity narratives, and discourse and agency theories.
