Abstract:
The goal of the thesis is to analyze how the most relevant players in the automotive industry pursue innovation, in particular through alliances and partnerships. The automotive industry is ideal for this kind of analysis, indeed it involves different kinds of knowledge. In the last twenty years, new technologies gained importance in the market, such as electric and hybrid engines. These new technologies led to an increase in complexity and raised new R&D costs. This paper aims to understand how these players are developing new technologies reducing the costs through alliances and partnerships.
