Abstract:
The dissertation will deal with the political history of the american conservative coalition known as Religious Right in the '90s and '00s. The focus of the disseration is to understand what kind of poitical idea moved christian conservatives, how they organized their political influence and especially how the groups they formed to lobby gradually evolved from triumphalistic and populistic forces into more pragmatic and keen to politics entities. Christianity Today, the flagship magazine of american evangelism, has been taken as the primary source for this analysis as it offers a complete view of the evangelical world, from left to right, without being politicized, thus presenting all the facets of the discussion behind the evolution of the religious right.
