dc.description.abstract This thesis focuses on the translation of four specialized texts related to international cooperation in the field of culture and to the cultural tourism in the sister cities of Hangzhou and Verona. The first source text is an academic article by Wang Li and Li Qin and the other three are magazine articles written by Zhang Yong, Chi Yingxue and Yang Ji, respectively. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter consists of an introduction which gives general information about the different themes related to the texts: “One Belt & One Road Initiative”, international cooperation, cultural heritage, partnerships between China and Italy and UNESCO sites in Hangzhou and Verona. The introduction is divided in to three main paragraphs. The first one is an historical excursus on Chinese foreign policy and international cooperation with particular reference on the “One Belt & One Road Initiative” and the recent Memorandum between China and Italy. The second paragraph is about cultural diplomacy in Chinese and Italian foreign policy and the last one is about the twinned cities of Hangzhou and Verona and their cultural heritage. The second chapter is the translation of the articles from Chinese to Italian. In particular, the first text is an in-depth analysis of real cases of international cooperation in the candidacy for World Heritage and a delineation of future prospects for collaborations between China and the countries involved in the Belt & Road Initiative. The second text is about the cultural partnership between Hangzhou and Verona and the cultural and technological development of Hangzhou. Lastly, the third and the fourth texts are catered towards Hangzhou’s and Verona’s historical and cultural heritage. The final chapter of the thesis consists of a commentary on the translation of the source texts which provides an explanation of the strategies adopted by the translator in producing the target text and also a glossary divided into sections according to different thematic areas. At the end of this thesis there is also a list of bibliography references. it_IT
