Abstract:
The theme I will treat for my Master thesis at ESCP is about strategies that a firm should implement in order to increase the productivity of its employees, helping them to live their jobs in a better way. As many researchers have shown, the HR department is one of the most important in a company, because hiring the right people is a key factor for success. HR is also necessary to create all the right environmental conditions in which employees could work at their best.
My main aim is to understand if there could be a universal recipe to maximize productivity increasing the employee well-being.
Is it possible for a win-win solution? or it’s just a hedonic concept that is good just to create an impression?
Nowadays it could be considered as a trend, indeed many companies don’t believe that implementing and investing in employee’s well-being could bring some additional value in terms of performances.
First of all, I want to understand what productivity is. What are the factors able to drive it? Then, my interest would go through business history to understand the different types of working conditions that have been the most relevant ones; in order to make comparisons with what is trending now.
Then, I would like to understand why reward is important for employees, and what type of reward is perceived as most important. This analysis will be able to get a clear point of view, regarding the benefits that companies usually give to their employees.
Some examples will be considered, and finally, a questionnaire will elucidate the theory regarding employee satisfaction in the creative agency sector.
