Abstract:
This study aims to investigate and characterize over 150 paper bindings made from 1500 to 1700 and preserved in the Marciana National Library. This study will use both non-invasive techniques as digital microscope and spectrophotometer and invasive ones that will require sampling as FTIR, GC-MS and XRF.
With the information collected, it is expected to shed some light on the materials and techniques used in the paper bindings production process.
