Abstract:
The objective of the research is to obtain an improved understanding on the mechanics of the abrupt climate change events during the Last Glacial Period, and to collect overall overview in the different archives and represent the evidences. Hence, for the review of the state-of-the-art of the events, an analysis of many paleoclimate records from different regions and comparison of the results is necessary. Moreover, a brief explanation of the proposed mechanisms should be included. The next step is hypotheses formulation on what evidence are expected to be found with analysis of the ice cores, after what their testing against already obtained results from studies on the Greenland ice cores follows. The emphasis should be put on the analysis with LA-ICP-MS. The primary purpose of this research is to show that many archives, that exist everywhere, contain evidence about the abrupt climate changes. Also, it should be able to explain why sensitive analytical techniques are necessary for analyzing abrupt climate oscillations. Finally, it should represent an attempt for making assumptions about the principle of working of the climatic system, the responses of its different compartments and their interactions. The last point is of crucial importance in the forecasting of the future abrupt climate changes and the pursuit of solutions in the battle against the global warming.
