Lo Stato del fascismo. La soluzione del fascismo alla crisi dello Stato europeo tra le due guerre.

Abstract

The final aim of the academic essay is to investigate the development of the complex relations that occur between individuals, State and political party during the inter-war period (1914-1945). The essay analyses the transformation of the role of modern State, particularly focusing on the international repercussions that fascism had during the 1930s. The initial part describes the transformations from a liberal to a mass State. It particularly highlights both the warfare-welfare mechanism created during WW1, and the transnational spread of corporatist ideas during the early years of the twentieth century. The core of the research resides in the investigation of the role of the State and the political party according to the fascist view. The Italian periodical of political science and law "Lo Stato" was the instrument that allowed the research to reconstruct the particularly vivid debate of the time. Thanks to its original articles, it has been an important window on non-elaborated opinions, theories and principles of the Fascist State-Party. In the final chapter, the validity of fascist ideas on State and Party will be compared to the international political debate. In fact, the entire vision of the research wants to respect the transnationality of the events. For this reason, the elaborate respects the idea that fascism was a typical twentieth century phenomenon, responding to the challenges launched by the new-born mass society.
