Abstract:
The aim of my thesis is to provide a general knowledge about the impact of 4.0 technologies on companies. After providing a case study, it will be analysed how the small and medium-sized enterprises of the Venetian area are reacting to this transformation. After providing a general historic background, the paper brings attention to the main enabling technologies and analyses some specific cases. Thereafter, will be examined some of the Policies implemented in order to make companies innovate, analyzing not only the Italian case, but also the European one and those of some of the most important international markets such as China and the USA. After analyzing the policies, it is important to study how the enabling technologies are embedded in companies and international markets. Through an empirical study, conducted in collaboration with Unioncamere, the impact of the 4.0 technologies in the small and medium-sized enterprises of the Venetian area will be examined.
