dc.description.abstract There are many points of view that can be analyzed when we talk about children literature and the one that I wanted to stress is the process of comprehension and memorization of a text in the mind of an infant. Sometimes it is hard to understand if a child can effectively comprehend a text, and that’s the reason why we always say that he has is own comprehension based on his previous experiences.Of course, we must say that studying the process of memorization of the infant was a way to better understand why my childhood is characterized by false memories. In other words, it was a process that made me understand more about my childhood. The translator and the infant make different implication during the comprehension of the story because the two, in the guise of readers, are influenced by their own backgrounds. Analyzing how the infant approach the text and which technics can be used to let the comprehension more efficient was a way to understand the difference between the translated text and the perceived text. This thesis deals with the Italian translation of the introductions and the first three stories of the book entitled “Time collectors” written by Tang Sulan. The process of translation was struggling but stimulating because sometimes I had to go back into my childhood memories and try to adapt the language of the target text to be more accessible to a little reader. The book reflects the thoughts of the writer that wants to make order to all the lost memories of her childhood. With these stories she wanted to give space to her dreams and she used her imagination to make them become real, at least for all the children that will read the text. This book represents a journey through her memories and trying to collect them in stories is a way to collect time. That’s why I first wanted to analyze the influences of memory in the process of comprehension in the infant. The last chapter is a translation commentary with the aim to analyze the source text and the target text peculiarities, the translation problems and the ways to overcome them. It deals with the description of the translation problems encountered during the process of translating, as well as the techniques and solutions applied to solve these problems. The last section is a comparison between the translated text and the perceived text by the infant in his different steps of growth, so the reader can understand when that the role of a translator ends, and the role of the reader effectively starts. it_IT
