Abstract:
Greece and Italy are two European countries being known for their breathtaking landscapes, the good climatic conditions, the huge historical and cultural past. For those reasons are both a favorite destination for vacation for every season. The combination of the geographical position and the variety of landscapes, the numerous cultural monuments as well as the variety of the services and tourist activities are parameters that led those two countries to have a big part in the tourism industry/market. High level of tourism in an area can result to positive impacts such as an economic growth and development. This work aims to examine the case study of South Italy and Greece, to question the families of factors such as demographic, social, economic, environmental and factors regarding the level of accessibility for those two countries in a regional and provincial level. In which degree those variables influence the touristic destination choices? Which are the similarities and differences that can result?
Finally this work intents to provide results helpful for the tourism management and the future planning policies.
