dc.description.abstract This thesis focuses on the global art market ’s analysis , paying specific attention to the Chinese art market’s environment and development. China, indeed, has always stood out for its unique cultural heritage and thanks to its economic policies, in the last ten years has become one of the most important players in the global art market. In this thesis are analyzed the driven factors that led China, together with United States and United Kingdom, to be one of the three most powerful countries in the art market. In the first chapter, beginning with a general introduction about the relationship between art and economy, addresses different topics such as the art as investment tool, the reasons why invest in this sector and services meant to help investors. Risks about art market are also analyzed, focusing on the innovations developed in order to avoid and limit them. The second chapter is entirely dedicated to China: based on the latest international reports on the art market, the analysis begins with a general introduction framework and then point out other relevant aspects including the financial aid given to the Chinese art market, the legal and economic related implications. Here again the connection between art and economy is renewed through the survey about international and Chinese most important auction houses. The chapter continues by specifying the reasons why weastern art have moved to China. The last and third chapter deals with the issue of the digitalization and ecommerce in the Chinese art market: how some online platforms have become points of reference for purchases of works of art and have created real auctions. it_IT
