dc.description.abstract This work wants to explore the subject of The Great Migration that happened in Italy between the beginning of the 19th century and the end of the 20th century, focusing on the trajectory that saw the arrival of millions of Italians to Latin America, with a special regard to Argentina and Brazil. On the other hand, it elaborates on how such a phenomenon was perceived by the Italian political class and which were the actions taken, both on a legislative and diplomatic level. The study will try to understand how the migration flux has influenced the diplomatic and commercial relationships between Italy and Argentina and Italy and Brazil. Moreover, it will investigate on the way each country Government reacted to the incoming or outgoing migration, and what were the internal or foreign policies implemented to respond to this phenomenon. Thanks to the help of a vast bibliography on the matter, this work will frame the economic, ethnical and ideological causes and the consequences of what has come to be known as The Great Migration and understand what role it as played in these three countries. it_IT
