Abstract:
Experimental research thesis on the teaching and learning of Italian as an L2/FL based on the data collected through a case study at the Conservatorio Rossini of Pesaro. This thesis aims at investigating the peculiarities of the Italian language and culture – as a vehicular language, as a study language, and as a language for specific purposes – to non-Italian mother tongue speakers in a culturally thick context such as that of a Conservatorio paying particular attention to the users’ needs – i.e. mostly the needs of the non-native Italian-speaking learners, on the other hand those of the Italian-speaking teachers), and to their profiles.
