Abstract:
The topic of this dissertation will cover an emerging phenomenon that is having great influence on the modern business environment: startup companies. In particular, this study will focus on how Italian startups may enter the Chinese market with the help of Tech Silu, an international Organization which operates at the highest institutional levels on the investment markets in order to improve the development of the Italian startup scenario.
In the first chapter, information will be provided to better understand startup companies and their features, in terms of kinds of startups, the legal structures chosen by entrepreneurs and the types of financing.
In the second chapter the work will focus on the features of Chinese startup system: the study will discuss the the characteristics of the Chinese startup ecosystem, with a note on Made in China2025 and the explanation of the role of incubators and accelerators for startups. Afterwards, the chapter provides for an acknowledgement of Chinese legal system and Company Law and its effect on startups.
The third chapter will discuss the objectives of Tech Silu and its projects, with a particular focus on ISIC2017 (Italian Scale Up Initiative), a pioneering project that led three Italian startups to enter the Chinese market.
Consequently, the aim of this thesis is to have a better understanding of Chinese startup ecosystem and to explain how Italian entrepreneurs may enter the Chinese market thanks to Tech Silu and its projects.
