| dc.description.abstract | Abstract This thesis aims at unfolding a histo- economic analysis of the role of tourism within the Venetian Economy. As the elitists’ demand for cultural and religious tours came to life, Venice has often allowed trespassers to rest, amuse and acculturate themselves.
