The goal of the this thesis is to show how the application of the techniques of Business Process Management (BPM) within and organization can lead to effective benefits from the managerial, operational and economical point of view.
The first chapter of the paper describes the theory underlying the practical project. In particular, it explains the concept of Business Process Management and focuses on two of its main underlying topics: the “Value Chain” as developed by M. E. Porter, and the “Business Process Reengineering” approach, through the analysis of literature and academic work performed by several scholars over time.
The body of the paper focuses on the description of the project’s goals, phases and results, with a detail analysis of the main activities undertaken.
The last chapter shows the conclusions developed by the author, by confronting the academic and research literature with the results of the project.
